Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into fries, about 1/4 inch thick.
Soak the cut fries in a bowl of ice-cold water for about 30 minutes. This will help to remove the excess starch and make your fries crispier.
While the sweet potatoes are soaking, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
After 30 minutes, drain the sweet potatoes and pat them dry with a clean towel.
In a large bowl, toss the dried sweet potato fries with olive oil, garlic powder, and chili powder until evenly coated.
Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don't overcrowd them – you may have to cook in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook the fries at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes. Then, shake the basket to flip the fries and cook for another 5-10 minutes, until they're crispy and golden brown.
Remove the fries from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
I prefer the white flesh Sweet potatoes over the orange ones.
